Food
Participants enjoy a food allowance through access to our foodstuff warehouse and weekly deliveries of fresh produce and groceries. Additionally, they have free access to cooked meals prepared in our very own Social Kitchen.
The outdoor summer kitchen, aptly named "Fournin," serves as the bustling heart of Kapnikos Stathmos Katerini. Here, all meals are exclusively prepared and shared, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
"Fournin" boasts all the necessary appliances, ensuring a functional cooking space. Volunteers and residents collaborate here, using the kitchen's amenities to create delicious meals and forge shared intercultural experiences. An exceptional feature of "Fournin" is its traditional stone oven, which adds a unique touch to our culinary offerings. The stone oven transforms ordinary ingredients into extraordinary pizzas, delighting all fortunate enough to indulge.
Accommodation
Our volunteers are housed in two commonly used apartments, each offering two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom facilities. Further enhancing convenience, two outdoor kitchens and additional sanitation rooms are available. Participants benefit from free access to various amenities including refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, heating systems, ovens, plates, glasses, sheets, blankets, pillows, and more.
The apartment at Kapnikos Stathmos Katerini features spacious bedrooms, each measuring 14m². Furnished with bunk beds, each bedroom accommodates up to 8 people comfortably (4 per room). Closets and balconies facing the east provide both storage and pleasant views. The living room, spanning 16m², offers a cozy space for relaxation and socializing.
The apartment boasts a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom for guests' convenience. Central heating ensures a warm and comfortable environment. Recent renovations in 2022, including new insulation, enhance energy efficiency and coziness. Sanitary rooms and bathrooms accessible to volunteers have also been constructed, providing convenience right next to the apartments.
